First, the ecology of the heart: love, compassion, friendship, and self-esteem. For this, our stories explore the landscape of personal values and healthy relationships.
Second, the ecology of the world around us. For that, we offer you eco story books to gently raise awareness and get the whole family working together to create a better future.

Our favorite story book characters, Griffie the 21st-Century Griffin and Pluck the Duck, capture the hearts and minds of both children and adults.
The Griffie’s Eco Adventures series invites kids to engage with nature and educates them about protecting all life. Who Are You, Cat-Bird?, the flagship of the Griffie’s Eco Books series, makes its appearance in summer, 2024.

The Plucky Duck books encourage kids to live from the heart and stretch to be all that they can be. Mrs. Macker’s Quacker is the first of the Plucky Duck series.
Both feature compelling storylines, stunning illustrations, and a thought-provoking Questions and Activities section that is sure to lead to meaningful discussion at home and in the classroom.
Who’s Behind Green Song Press?
Author and publisher Chiwah Slater got her start in environmentalism running a high school recycling depot. Later, she spent years studying First Nations traditions that are at the forefront of today’s environmental movement. Along the way, she earned a Master’s degree in Native American languages.
Active in her Sierra Club chapter and a Leader in Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, she weighs in regularly on local, state, and national environmental and climate change issues.
Professionally, since the ’80s Chiwah has been helping authors get their books written and published. She wrote her first kids’ book in 2012, and now finds writing kids books and helping others do the same her greatest source of joy.
On the side, to maintain balance in her life, she has been known to perform as a kids’ party clown, pirate, and magician, and Mrs. Claus. Keeps her young!
