The story ends with an empowering call to action, inviting young readers to help Griffie earn his eagle feathers by keeping animals safe from discarded plastic.

This vibrant kids’ nature book is perfect for both home and classroom settings, with a fun “Questions and Activities” section at the end inviting young children to mimic Griffie’s parrot-like squawk as it nudges older kids to consider their deep connection with the natural world and take steps to protect animals from plastic waste. Some first-graders and most second-graders are able to read the book on their own; younger children love looking at the illustrations as the story is read to them.
